Create Community: It's a Cultural Alliance!

The Cultural Alliance was formed in 1999 to raise funds for, and awareness of, the creative community focusing on 8 partner agencies.

Though we continue to live our original mission, we have become, after 13 years, more than just a fundraiser. Our reach is broader now and we affect more people than ever.

Did you know . . .

  • The Cultural Alliance presents the annual 4th of July Concert and Fireworks at the Expo Center - one of the largest events in the county attracting 20,000 community members - and that it is free and open to the public.
  • The state of Pennsylvania selected the Cultural Alliance as an Arts in Education partner. We create residencies in the schools teaching core curriculum through the arts.
  • The state of Pennsylvania chose us to award state grants in four counties because our allocation process is so robust.
  • The Cultural Alliance created the Creative Impact Awards, open to individuals and organizations across York County, awarding $70,000 in its inaugural year.
  • The Cultural Alliance brought the Governor's Awards for the Arts to York in 2010. The Governor and his wife, along with the chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, attended the event.
  • The Cultural Alliance is one of the leading arts fundraisers in the United States.

Community happens when we have opportunities to live, work, and play together. We all want to be inspired by our surroundings and enjoy activities that bring us together and make our neighborhoods lively and inviting.

Let's Create Community in 2012 . . . It's a cultural alliance!
